My Story
I am running the Swindon Half Marathon on Sunday 20 September - it's my first half marathon and, at the age of 70, might be my last!
My mother passed away at GWH in 2006. It was the most traumatic and emotional time for us, but her care, and the support we received from the ward team during, and afterwards, helped enormously . It is a sad fact, but a good end of life involves having in place good processes and people.
Brighter Futures End of Life initiative (EOL) is aiming to make things as stress free and comfortable for those involved. There are two initiatives, I am supporting: a GWH EOL companion coordinator and EOL trolleys on the wards, which contain all the relevant information for bereaved families.
I do hope you can support me.
