My Story

Dove Unit is a specialist ward providing inpatient care to cancer patients.  The unit cares for individuals requiring intensive chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and treatment of neutropenic sepsis.  Those admitted to Dove Unit are generally inpatients for many weeks or even several months.  Due to the depletion in their immune system patients are isolated and discouraged from mixing with the general public. This is challenging both physically and mentally and the aim is to provide a secure outdoor space for patients to use.  A court yard has been successfully identified however, this needs extensive renovation in order to transform it into a safe and inviting garden.

Fundraising is underway  since November 2022. BUT we still have a little way to go.

The team have a Tandem Sky Dive lined up and have been creative in the efforts to make this happen. This really is a team effort!

This garden will make a significant difference to so many patients. All donations are greatly appreciated.
